Canada Takeover Month - A September to Remember

This September, we’re thrilled to celebrate the 13th anniversary of DAVACO Canada with a special Canada Takeover Month! For the entire month, our website, social media, and emails will shine a spotlight on the achievements, growth, and vision of our Canadian division. Join us as we honor over a decade of innovation, resilience, and dedication in construction project management and multisite commercial facilities maintenance across Canada.

From Humble Beginnings to National Impact

DAVACO Canada’s story began in 2011 with a clear vision: to bring the same level of excellence that defined our U.S. operations to the Canadian market. Our first major project was in September of 2011, installing Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC) coin boxes for McDonald’s Canada. DAVACO Canada executed this project with precision which set the stage for a partnership that has continued to this day. This success opened the door to a more ambitious project, the transformative Vision 17 Program for McDonald's—a complex rollout that involved completing three different scopes—lobby, kitchen, and customer service counter—within a reduced timeframe. Through efficient scheduling, just-in-time logistics, and flawless execution, DAVACO reduced the project duration from three nights to one, minimizing store downtime and cutting costs.

The V17 project marked a turning point for DAVACO Canada, establishing our internal structure and building the foundation for future growth. It was more than just an operational achievement; it was a testament to our commitment to delivering value and exceeding client expectations.

Overcoming Challenges with Innovation and Commitment

Our journey hasn’t been without its challenges. As DAVACO Canada grew, we had to find innovative ways to retain critical expertise and build a strong, knowledgeable team. This included retaining top-performing field staff after a project was over. Through careful retention of key individuals, we were able to maximize efficiency, remain financially responsible, and cultivate a group of professionals who now lead our operations and drive our continued success.

Meet the Trailblazers of DAVACO Canada

DAVACO Canada’s success has been built by the dedication, vision, and leadership of remarkable individuals who have been with us for years, some from the beginning. Here’s a glimpse of the trailblazers who have shaped our journey:

  • Chad Loder: Joining us in 2015 as a carpenter, Chad quickly rose through the ranks, bringing his extensive trade knowledge and natural leadership skills to every project. As the current Director of Operations, Chad is known for his integrity, client relationships, and his ability to maintain a cohesive and thriving team.
  • George Kalamvokis: One of our earliest team members, George has been a key figure since 2011, managing some of the largest national rollouts with exceptional organizational skills. His innovative processes continue to drive our success today, making him a cornerstone of our operations.
  • Chris Armstrong: Since joining in 2014, Chris has been instrumental in refining our field operations. His strategic thinking and knack for process optimization have made him a critical part of our leadership as the Field Operations Manager, ensuring efficient project execution across Canada.
  • Laura Murphy: Starting in 2015 as a Project Coordinator, Laura’s logistics expertise quickly became vital to our success. Now the National Logistics Manager, she continuously develops innovative solutions tailored to each client’s unique needs, making her an indispensable part of our team.
  • Erin Dunford: As the Director of Business Development, Erin has spent four years building strategic partnerships with major brands like Nordstrom, Cineplex, Lululemon, and Burberry across North America. Her background in retail, visual design, and interior design allows her to understand and address the unique needs of each brand and project.

These leaders, along with their teams, represent the spirit and strength of DAVACO Canada. Stay tuned throughout September as we delve deeper into each of their stories and the incredible impact they’ve had on our company.
